The majority of the crops grown in Denmark are done so through commercial farming. This is the case because of the fact that a large chunk of these crops (over 75%) are sold. Also, a small percentage of the population works in agriculture; another sign of commercial farming.

The total amount of arable land in Denmark is 58.9% of all its land. The percent of permanent crop land is 0.1%.

The majority of crops grown in Denmark are "cash crops." This is so because around 17% of their agricultural yields are used a food which leaves the other 83% for commercial gains and other services.
An environmental problem faced by Denmark as an effect of agriculture is that by using the amount of fertilizer and pesticides it does, the nitrogen levels in the soil have decreased and the chemicals from those products have started to leak into the water supply. This is a problem for the country because of the fact that the soil is being degraded, a problem for anyone who wants to grow crops, and that chemicals that can be harmful to humans are making their way into the water that the citizens of Denmark drink every day.
The climate in which Denmark is located greatly affects what can be grown. This is so because since the ocean is surrounding the majority of Denmark's land, its soil quality is reduced (because of the salt from the ocean). Due to that, the Danish have to use many more fertilizer to help improve the soil quality so that they can grow their grains and other crops. The problems for the amount of fertilizer used is explained above.
